The Old Question of ‘Why Split the Vote?” Answered

23 October 2021 By Alan Straton

I was posed this conundrum on FB; “We need to avoid the rot of the ANC and prevent the dangerous EFF. My opinion is that the only way to do this is to vote for the one party big enough to keep them at bay.”My answer: I hear you and must say that I DID feel exactly the same way. Obviously I do not fully agree with what you say and I base that on the following: The ANC will always be the party of ‘revolution’ that ‘saved the day’ but has become ‘corrupt and has strayed far from the path’ BUT … [Read more...] about The Old Question of ‘Why Split the Vote?” Answered

You are here: Home / News / Tales from the Robots – If these Flyers Could Talk! 19 Oct 2021 By Alan Straton As part of my volunteer work getting the Abantu Integrity Movement (AIM) message out I find myself working the robots three times a week, handing out flyers and meeting some awesome people – along with some strange ones as well. On the whole most people are friendly and happy to chat to this strange older fellow in a mask handing out Ward 7 and Khusta for Mayor flyers, dancing, chatting … [Read more...] about Tales from the Robots – If these Flyers Could Talk!

Dear Auntie @HelenZille – Your Assumption About ‘Smaller Parties’ Refers

21 October 2021 By Alan Straton

As my Sainted Grandmother used to say; “Assumption is the Mother of all Fargups!”I have listened with wonder at your expensive Radio Adverts (thank you ALL taxpayers for contributing) that feature you and Uncle John warning the good folks from Mzansi (*) that by voting for smaller parties we will be giving the power to the ANC and the EFF. That assumption is wrong on so many levels and here are but a few: Your assumption that only DA Voters are being targeted by the smaller parties is entirely … [Read more...] about Dear Auntie @HelenZille – Your Assumption About ‘Smaller Parties’ Refers

Why I Changed my ‘Voting Method’

21 October 2021 By Alan Straton

From the day I started voting (after milking the cows at 4:00 am and walking through the snow to catch an Ox-Cart) people used to ask me who I was voting for and my stock answer was always; “For the strongest opposition!” You are welcome PFP and DA – not that I expect you to thank me as my fellow tax and ratepayers have generously compensated you for being the official opposition for many years now.BUT My revelation was as simple as this: I realised one day that by continually voting for the … [Read more...] about Why I Changed my ‘Voting Method’

AIMing For The Ethos of Servant Leadership

19 October 2021 By Alan Straton

Prominent community leader and former anti-apartheid activist Khusta Jack says one of his first acts in office if he were to be elected Mayor of Nelson Mandela Bay would be to stop the practice of the municipality paying for lavish funerals for councillors. This a wasteful and fruitless expenditure, says Jack who is the mayoral candidate for Abantu Integrity Movement (AIM). Families of deceased councillors must take responsibility for burying their loved ones, as is the case with all other … [Read more...] about AIMing For The Ethos of Servant Leadership

Every Political Party needs a wake up call as I see them all going around saying things like; “We did this for you” and “we Did that for You” and “Since we came into power in January 2021 we have fixed 20 799 water leaks to prevent the taps from running dry, fixed 15 376 sewerage complaints and filled 8 325 potholes.”FARGING LIARS * Lets take the last ‘WE’ statement and break it down.
