Do Politicians Submit Leave Forms to the Municipality when Campaigning?

20 October 2021 By Alan Straton

You are here: Home / News / Do Politicians Submit Leave Forms to the Municipality when Campaigning?

19 Oct 2021 By Alan Straton

Please indulge my question as I am hoping that an esteemed member of the Social Media Classes may have the answer!

All these politicians who already have jobs on the largess of the tax and ratepayer are now running around in what are NORMAL WORKING hours campaigning for their parties and themselves to stay in a job! *

MY QUESTION IS: Do they put in for annual or unpaid leave in order to do their electioneering?

I know for a fact that any normal employer will NOT allow an employee to just run around the country, province, city or town and neglect the actual job for which they are paid!

* IF they had done a good job these past 5 years then there should be no need to campaign now should there?

Alan's ethos is epitomised in the words of Nelson Mandela; "I have fought against white domination and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the idea of a democratic and free society. If need be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die." See more articles by Alan.
