Dramatic Drop in Impofu Dam Levels

18 October 2023 By Alan Straton

Readers of MyPE will know that I have a bit of an obsession about the dam levels and faithfully check them at least three times a day (for the last 6 years or so). Imagine my surprise (horror) when I was presented yesterday with the figures below for the Impofu Dam: Of course being the somewhat fair media person that I am I immediately asked for clarity on the percentages reported via the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality WhatsApp media group. Luckily I have learned to NOT hold my … [Read more...] about Dramatic Drop in Impofu Dam Levels

A Message to this mornings Ford Ranger Road Hog

13 September 2023 By Alan Straton

This morning at the intersection of Westbourne and Eastbourne roads at around 7:40 am I had the unhappy experience of being cut off, as the robots turned green, by a hooting waving mad driver in a White Ford Ranger bakkie, who had just cut off the other vehicle behind me as well. He narrowly missed my vehicle as he squeezed onto Buckingham Road showing no regard for fellow drivers or oncoming traffic. I calmly followed him along Buckingham Road as he proceed to hoot and try to push the car … [Read more...] about A Message to this mornings Ford Ranger Road Hog

The African Proverb that Blessed Bobani and van Niekerk

5 September 2023 By Alan Straton

Mongameli Bobani

One of our African Proverbs views rain occuring on or before a special day like a wedding, birth, circumcision, funeral, graduation, birthday etc. as a particularly good omen and blessing *. Here in Nelson Mandela Bay we need blessings but, more than that, we need people to stand together towards a common goal. At this moment in time we do not really care what that goal is only that we have a common goal to begin practising with on our journey to prosperity, love and light.
