Motorists are advised that dangerous road conditions exist on the N2 near the Stanford Road turn-off. The tar on the road has lifted, creating very dangerous road conditions. As this is a national road, it does not fall under the jurisdiction of the Municipality. Repairs are under way, and danger signs have been posted to mark the affected area.
The Municipality appeals to motorists to drive carefully and exercise extreme caution in the affected area.

Earlier today there was a serious accident involving a truck turning over at this area on the freeway. This road is managed by SANRAL.
I saw the truck lying on it’s side as I was travelling on the N2 in the other direction on Saturday. Sometime last week, I also saw the “repairs” taking place on that patch of road, there was a massive excavated section and yesterday as I drove along that very section, I noticed that the excavated section was filled in very poorly indeed. In fact, there is almost a type of a “ramp” there now in the right hand lane!! I am almost sure that the unsuspecting truck driver was driving along when his cab hit the “ramp” and the whole truck must have then twisted and veered to the left. Of course if all of this can be proven to be true, it will all probably go the way of a BIG DENIAL, and the usual useless bla bla bla. I hope the truck driver is ok and that there were no other people hurt.
