Later, I ran into him by chance up in the Seattle area at an antique store, and it was at the height of his fame but we just had a funny little reminiscence about a San Diego club owner we both remembered. A couple days later at the airport I passed the newsstand and he just happened to be on the cover of Time Magazine. It was a surreal moment.”
