Joseph C. Gayetty and Seth Wheeler would NOT be amused at our NMBMM

18 November 2012 By Ward1

Good Morning At the BSSF meeting on Tuesday it was noted that beachfront toilets might have to be closed, due to the unavailablility of Metro stores to supply toilet paper. My further investigations have revealed that our Stores department is short supplying on requisitions for toilet paper and that stocks might run out within the next few days. This means that all public toilets serviced by the Metro, at buildings, taxi ranks and along the beachfront, will have no toilet paper. Public … [Read more...] about Joseph C. Please Continue to Save Water

3 November 2012 By Ward1

Dear Residents There have been some fairly good rainfalls over the last weeks. However, communities tend to forget the crucial value of water when it is freely available and the daily consumption is slowly creeping up. The average daily consumption for the last four months (in megalitres): May - 246 June - 250 July - 235 October - 264 It certainly appears that most people have lost the urgency to save rainwater. Residents are encouraged to save at least 10 - 15% on their … [Read more...] about Please Continue to Save Water

Petition to unban Sardinia Bay beach bathing ban

19 October 2012 By Ward1

Arrogant, incompetent and stupid, is how Ward 1 Councillor Stanford Slabbert described the recent decision of the Sport Art Recreation and Culture Standing Committee to ban bathing at Sardinia Bay Beach. At the meeting on 6th September, the ANC majority voted to support Beach Manager Fernando Cain's proposal to commission an independent Risk Assessment of Nelson Mandela Bay beaches, plus to prohibit bathing at Sardinia Bay Beach and relocate the current car park subject to EIA … [Read more...] about Petition to unban Sardinia Bay beach bathing ban
