TWO major water pipes from the Churchill Dam have collapsed near Van Stadens, and repairs will take at least three days.
One was a 1000mm pipe and the other a 700mm pipe.
The Summerstrand reservoir is already dry – two water tankers have been dispatched to the area.
One tanker will be parked at the Pick ‘n Pay Centre, and the other will be placed at the Mercado Spar.
Other areas will run dry within the next 24 hours.
Save, save, save. This crisis will affect all suburbs south of the N2 freeway.

Editors Notes: Latest reports state that water will be re-routed from other parts of the city supply so the crisis may become a low water pressure situation, BUT, don’t bank on it until it happens.
