With regards my last updated email from yesterday 5.30pm.
The NMBM JOC Centre did confirm that the entire Metro will be with water last evening.
I have been sadly surprised, as you all, to find out that the water saga was not finished this morning.
The NMBM Water Department is still sitting in a meeting to solve the water problem for Summerstrand and other suburbs in the city.
Two reservoirs are supplying Summerstrand, one supplies water for the bottom of Summerstrand along Marine Drive and the water is running well and the other reservoir is struggling to supply water for the top of Summerstrand (Above Brighton Drive, including Gomery Area, and above Strandfontein Rd)
Please do not panic and be patient.
For your information:
- There will be a water-tank truck at the Mercado Centre – Summerbreezz Spar. PLEASE be fair with the driver as he spends the entire day and night in the cold weather and still has to fill residents buckets which wet his feet.
- There are no water bottles at the Summerbreezz Spar until this afternoon.
- There is still a stock of water bottles at Pick and Pay.
PLEASE do not call the NMBM JOC Centre for this matter anymore, these poor operators do not have a clue when the crisis will be finalised and therefore will not give you a reference No.
Lets all cooperate together as responsible and understanding people. I will keep you up to date with this water saga.

Sitting in a meeting is not going to fix the water pipes nor will it fill the reservoirs! Sitting in meetings has not prevented the water pipes from breaking nor did it ensure that the pipes were properly maintained.
There is NO water truck at the Mercado Centre.
