Illegal Fireworks in Summerstrand will be dealt with

5 November 2012 By Ward1

The Summerstrand NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH PATROL TEAM will be on duty tonight – Monday 5 November – to ensure fireworks compliance during the entire night.

The patrol will consist of one private vehicle, the “I Patrol” car and 3 different teams from 8pm to 6am.

For any assistance or problem to report, please call NHW mobile number on 072 306 8812, SAPS on 10 111 or Fire Station on 041 585 1555 (24/7)

Fireworks are potentially dangerous and the indiscriminate discharging thereof is irritating to others and experienced as traumatic by animals. Every year, cases are reported of terrified pets scaling walls and getting lost, maimed or killed on our roads.

In this regard, the Municipality advises pet owners to preferably keep their pets indoors or at least locked up over the period, and to constantly monitor their condition.
