Electricity supply to the Elandsjagt Treatment Works which led to the reduction of water distribution to some Nelson Mandela Bay residents was restored around 17:00 yesterday afternoon.
Currently the reservoirs are low, but stable and it may take the majority of the week to recover. The fault at the treatment work is still being repaired and this work should be completed by the end of the day.
This means that the available water supply for Nelson Mandela Bay residents continues to be strained hence the request forresidents to continue to use water sparingly as the repairs are reducing distribution capacity.
