The Least We Could do was Release them off of St Croix

Port Elizabeth’s local marine rehabilitation centre, SAMREC, is continuing with a great job of rehabilitating marine animals and releasing them back into Algoa Bay.

Of course they do get return customers who like the Cape Receife centre so much that they return again and again for some free fish and a haircut!

The latest batch of 9 Bird Island penguins were quite stoked to catch a lift with Expert Tours all the way out to St Croix, this past weekend, before being released – cutting their journey home by nearly half.

Vice President of Government Relations for Ford Motor Company, Peter Lawson, went along for the ride and saw Algoa Bay’s marine biodiversity. Pete Lawson joined Ford Motor Company in April of 2009 as Vice President of Government Relations and oversees all of Ford’s federal and state government affairs.

With such solid experience I am wondering if Lawson could negotiate a better deal for our marine animals!
