Two Port Elizabeth music groups have advanced to the finals of the the Hansa Festival of Legends which is being held at Orlando Stadium in Soweto on 10 March. 6 urban artists from around SA which will open for Usher who is the main act - and one of these six will be from Port Elizabeth. Zwide Cemetery Upgrade to Continue

The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality will officially launch the Zwide Cemetery upgrading project tomorrow, following the completion of the fencing recently. The R2 million fencing project, which entailed the installation of approximately 1500m concrete palisade fence, forms part of the municipality's programme to upgrade cemeteries throughout Nelson Mandela Bay. Beachview and Zwide water supply interrupted

The water supply to Beachview and Zwide is currently interrupted due to water leakages. Beachview: In the Beachview area the leak has been located and work already commenced. Although no timeframe for the restoration of supply is currently available, we will work tirelessly in an attempt to restore supply later tonight. The South African Rugby Union (SARU) on Sunday expressed its dismay at the reported death of former Springbok flank Solly Tyibilika. Media reported that the 32-year-old had been shot dead at a tavern in the Cape Town township of Nyanga (since corrected to a Gugulethu tavern, where two armed men opened fire) on Sunday afternoon. R300 000 Support for Ubuntu Education Fund

Absa announced today that its partnership with the Ubuntu Education Fund will receive a further R300 000 injection in support of orphans and vulnerable children in the Zwide area of the Nelson Mandela Metro. Generous Donation to Zwide Library Book Collection

The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality's Zwide Library received a welcoming boost thanks to a generous donation of books from ABSA on Friday, 10 June. The donation from ABSA came as a result of an article published in a local newspaper about the shortage of books at the Zwide Library, and the call for people to donate books. The staff at ABSA decided to put in a collective effort to collect books and donate them to the Zwide Library.
