Cape Recife Beach Cleanup – 16 March 2024
The next WESSA Algoa Bay branch beach clean-up will be at the Cape Recife beach on Saturday 16 March 2024 from 09:30 to 10:30. We will meet opposite the SANCCOB building and we will be joining the Friends of the Cape Recife Nature Reserve. WESSA Beach Clean Up Stats from 2017 to Date
The local WESSA Branch, under the watchful eyes of Tim and Isobel Douglas-Jones, diligently collects data from their regular beach clean ups by recording dates, venues, number of volunteers and number of bags of litter collected. In the period from 4 March 2017 to 18 November 2023 WESSA Volunteers have removed 4039 Municipal Rubbish Bin sized bags of litter from various spots around Algoa Bay. Bluewater Bay swimming beach cleanup
The Algoa Bay Branch of WESSA and Zwartkops Conservancy are joining forces for a beach clean-up at Bluewater Bay swimming beach on Saturday 21 October 2023 from 09:30 to 10:30. To get there, driving from the city side, along the N2, take the Bluewater Bay off-ramp and then turn right at the stop street where it meets with Weinronk Way.
