Cape Recife Beach Cleanup – 16 March 2024

10 March 2024 By Port Elizabethan

The next WESSA Algoa Bay branch beach clean-up will be at the Cape Recife beach on Saturday 16 March 2024 from 09:30 to 10:30. We will meet opposite the SANCCOB building and we will be joining the Friends of the Cape Recife Nature Reserve.

To get there, coming from Summerstrand, you turn left off Marine Drive towards Pine Lodge. Drive past Pine Lodge and stop at the boom which is the entrance to the Cape Recife Nature Reserve. Tell the security person there that you are participating in the WESSA beach clean-up and he or she will let you through. Drive on to the SANCCOB parking area and park. Look out for the WESSA feather banners. If you park at SANCCOB, you will not need a permit to enter the reserve. However, if you drive beyond SANCCOB, you will need to obtain a permit in advance.

We will supply bags, but please bring your own gloves if possible, water, hats and sunscreen.

After the cleanup, you may like to support SANCCOB by having tea, coffee and something to eat at the Flying Penguin Cafe.

For more information contact Tim at – 082 775 8816
