15 September 2014 By Port Elizabethan

Letters to the Editor

Dear MyPE Some 10 000 residents of Cedarville and Masakala Village near Matatiele have been without water since last Tuesday and no alternatives have been made available. While some sources indicated that non-payment of electricity bills by Alfred Nzo District Municipality (ANDM) to Eskom is the source of the problem, evidence rather points to the failure of infrastructure. The latter being a symptom of inadequate forward planning and poor management. Only this morning it was … [Read more...] about 10 000 residents without water since last Tuesday

NMB Stadium Water

Message to Poland - whatever you can do, we can do better! On 27 March MyPE featured a unique sailing event that took place in Poland's National Stadium - an international floodlit windsurfing competition under cover and within the confines of the stadium. (See: A world first event for Port Elizabeth). In the article I speculated; "Wouldn't it be great, though, if we could do the same as the National Stadium in Poland and turn the sport of sailing into a paid for by spectator sport and hold … [Read more...] about Watersport events under NMB Stadium floodlights

The story of the water babes

24 February 2014 By Tanya Wyatt

Tanya Wyatt

Let me introduce myself. I'm what some might refer to as a molecule of water. I prefer to think of myself as a massive, unfulfilled storehouse of potential energy (I'm not given to grandiosity!). I lie around a lot, dreaming of making it big - thinking about all the fabulous reactions I could cause inside a body (frankly, I'll take any body at this point, though my preference is for one of those standy-up, 2-legged/2-armed jobbies that call themselves human). Ah, just imagine... I'm in a … [Read more...] about The story of the water babes
