Staff at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium (NMB) are giving back to various communities in support of Youth Month. Included in the stadium’s corporate social investment (CSI) programme is the renovation of the Vukukhanye Edu-Care situated in Vuku Road, KwaZakhele, in Port Elizabeth. I cannot see the situation getting much better even if the times of the soccer matches were changed, which is unlikely because of potential TV coverage being sought by officialdom at the stadium. Dear Editor, Last night Chippa played Tuks at the NMM Stadium. For some reason kick off was at 19h30. This means that the match ended 21h20. So for the duration of the match, residents in the surrounding areas had to endure a hysterical screaming commentator and loud music. It is funny that stadium management responds to comments on the food and beverage debacles, but remains deafeningly silent when it comes to the issue of unacceptable noise levels.
