City supports Algoa FM’s first Music Festival in PE – ‘Algoa Live’

Support for the first Algoa Live music festival has come from the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality.

“Look we’re very excited in the city to have this event; it’s a new product, it’s a new offering, it’s new in terms of our events calendar and I’m sure that it’s going to provide the people of the Nelson Mandela Bay and the tourists with something new and something fresh”, says Assistant Director for Events Management of the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality, Seki Mandaba.

Algoa FM’s first seven hour music festival ‘Algoa Live’ will be hosted on Saturday, 7 March in Prince Alfred Park at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium featuring seven of SA’s top national acts Mi Casa, Jimmy Nevis, Kurt Darren, Prime Circle, Lloyd Cele, Goldfish and Stuart Reece.

“We are happy to give the Nelson Mandela Bay this exciting new concert and we are confident that they will be delighted with the quality of this event. This is a huge milestone for us, hosting our first Music Concert, and we are going all out to put on the best show and make this an annual event that will also benefit the city”, says Managing Director of Algoa FM, Dave Tiltmann.

“I just want to say to everyone, go get your tickets, it’s going to be an exciting event, it’s going to be a blast and I’m very excited and looking forward to it”, says Mandaba.

“The ticket sales has started going swiftly in the lead-up to the festival; we are grateful for the city’s support and know that Algoa Live will be the only place to be on Saturday”, says Tiltmann.

Concert tickets are still available and cost R150 for adults and R80 for children (under 18).

They are available online via Ticketpro on www.ticketpros.co.za or can be purchased at participating PostNet outlets within the station’s broadcast area; including Beacon Bay, Vincent, Grahamstown, Uitenhage, in Port Elizabeth at Metlife Plaza, Moffett on Main, PE Waterfront Express, Sunridge Village, The Acres, The Bridge and Walmer.

Tickets are also on sale from Cone Zone, The Boardwalk in Summerstrand. Gates open at 11am with the show starting from 12-7pm.

In order to ensure that everyone is able to enjoy the show the organisers urge people to bring blankets for the seating on the lawn area.

For safety no chairs will be allowed.

People are also encouraged to bring their caps and sunblock to ensure that they are protected from the sun because they will not be allowed to obscure the view of those behind with umbrellas.

There has been provision made for disabled parking at Prince Alfred Entrance, with a demarcated disabled area to view the concert and separate ablution facilities.

Food and beverages will be on sale inside the stadium, which means that concert goers will not be able to bring their own refreshments and snacks.
