+: An Easy Way to See Which Web Site Sold Your Email Address

8 March 2024 By Alan Straton

Gmail

There is a 'hidden' feature in Gmail that will help you address the problem AND identify just who sold your email address on. In Gmail, you can add a “+” symbol and any word you want to the end of your email address, and it will still reach your inbox. For example, if your email address is JohnDoe@gmail.com, you can use johndoe+shopping@gmail.com, … [Read more...] about +: An Easy Way to See Which Web Site Sold Your Email Address

More Lambs to the Bitch Slapping Fest

14 January 2011 By Alan Straton

You would think that mature adults would stop and think before just using a form to send unsolicited marketing messages. Yesterday we had a local Port Elizabeth business trying to sell software to businesses listed in the MyPE Directory. Today I came across someone trying to peddle "Kick you in the Shin Classes". Now Bruce Lee and I are tight and my mate Julie down at Julies Pub is known to kick off her shoes and do a little bit of Martial Arts so undeterred I enquired from this spammer … [Read more...] about More Lambs to the Bitch Slapping Fest

Wanna Get Bitch Slapped?

13 January 2011 By Alan Straton

Please be aware that a certain Port Elizabeth based business has been using the contact form in the MyPE business directory to send many businesses an e-mail attempting to sell software products. After the first complaint that I received I sent the owner an e-mail asking him to desist. After the THIRD complaint I picked up the phone and had a little chat with the owner. Just to re-iterate why it is not a good idea to tout for business using contact and other forms: By touting for … [Read more...] about Wanna Get Bitch Slapped?

Finally – a Spam Mail That Upset me No End

6 January 2011 By Alan Straton

www.MyPE.co.za: We all receive spam mails and they have ranged from great long lasting riches to great long lasting appendages. For years now I have been relying on venerable old Gmail … [Read more...] about Finally – a Spam Mail That Upset me No End
