Submit URL to Google
In the 'old days' the simplest way to submit new and updated URL's from your web site was to register your site and app with Google's Search Console. Once you had registered, you uploaded your sitemap through a simple interface by navigating to the Crawl > Sitemaps section. BUT, even that had technophobes hyperventilating and reaching for the old Brown Paper Bag from last night's takeaways. Now Google has taken a leaf out of the Social Media norm of sharing a link to something that … [Read more...] about Submit URL to Google

Sell more products online by getting these points right
Time and time again I am asked to help web site owners to sell more products online. They see that MyPE is very 'visible' in the search engines and want me to share my knowledge to help them do the same. Invariably I look at the web site that is performing 'poorly' and find a litany of problems that people are reluctant to fix citing a myriad of objections. In the background I hear them thinking things like; "snake oil", "magic fix", "shortcut, "he is not telling us everything", "too expensive", … [Read more...] about Sell more products online by getting these points right
SEOprofiler – One of the Reasons Why MyPE Ranks High
Simple - we spend a lot of time optimising our articles and your listings in the MyPE Business Directory. In the early days (2004) it was relatively easy to gain good rankings but, as more and more websites entered our space to compete, we had to up our game somewhat and I invested in the Axandra desktop SEO Software programme. Axandra is the companion programme to SEOprofiler - an online SEO, Linking and Social Media Management programme. If SEOprofiler is half as good as Axandra then we … [Read more...] about SEOprofiler – One of the Reasons Why MyPE Ranks High
Search Engine Optimisation Take Aways from the Jeffreys Bay East Cape Tourism Indaba
So, sitting in a Jeffreys Bay shopping mall and giving search engine optimisation advice is a pretty new thing for me - the last time I was in such a structured environment was when exhibiting at the Rand Easter Show during the late eighties. Tourism owners the country (and probably the world) over are much the same; they want to dominate the online market, are mostly of a certain age that didn't grow up connected and are pretty susceptible to being ripped off. I am currently in Jeffreys … [Read more...] about Search Engine Optimisation Take Aways from the Jeffreys Bay East Cape Tourism Indaba

You Wanna Promote Your Business on the Web?
The most soul destroying words that any client can say to me 12 months after developing and launching a site is; "The web site just didn't work for me!". At that moment I just want to scream; "So did you tell the builder of your business premises or your landlord that the building just didn't work for you as well - as if it was their fault?" There is one very true rule when it comes to a web site and getting sales - you have to treat your web site like a shop that you open every morning, … [Read more...] about You Wanna Promote Your Business on the Web?
