Relief efforts, coordinated by the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality’s Joint Operations Centre, are still continuing as rising water levels necessitate evacuations in some areas. Disaster Management is currently distributing 120 mattresses and 226 blankets to people accommodated elsewhere. The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality still has a mini Joint Operations Centre (JOC) active as water levels subside after heavy rain hit the city over the weekend. Safety and Security officials are still monitoring conditions at the JOC as water levels subside.
