Complaint re Abuse of Metro Traffic vehicles – Saturday 8th February

12 February 2014 By Port Elizabethan

Greetings As the former Ward 1 Councillor and now an independent candidate in the forthcoming Ward 1 by-election, I have lodged the strongest objection to the flagrant abuse of two Metro Traffic vehicles (maybe three) on Saturday evening, 8th February. My family were amongst the large and excited crowd of onlookers in front of Collegiate High School, watching the parade of dazzling vehicles deliver their equally dazzling couples to the Matric Dance. The parade started at about 6.15pm and … [Read more...] about Complaint re Abuse of Metro Traffic vehicles – Saturday 8th February

Collegiate Valedictory Hobie Beach

One of the traditions of the Collegiate High School is that after the Matric final assembly and valedictory service they all descend on Hobie Beach for a swim in their school uniforms. This year the Apprentice Longhair, our daughter Brittany, was part of the happy throng that indulged in this traditional 'cleansing' ceremony - it seems just like yesterday that she and her friends were entering pre-primary up the road. Horse Riding Port Elizabeth

19 March 2012 By Alan Straton

Brittany Straton

Oh woe are the Longhair and I with children who choose 'marginal' sporting activities. This past weekend was the turn of the horse riding Apprentice Longhair riding Gatsby (or as I call the nag - the Glue Factory) for Collegiate at the SANESA Qualifier which took place in the grounds of the PE Riding Club. Just like other members of the media struggle to get their heads around my love of sailing so do I struggle to get my head around this horse riding lark. But, it places the occasional smile … [Read more...] about Horse Riding Port Elizabeth
