The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality is pleased to inform residents in the areas affected by the outage experienced in a number of areas in the city this afternoon is being restored. The cause of this widespread outage has been traced to attempts by a resident in Moeggesukkel, Bethelsdorp to make an illegal connection, in which process he unwittingly threw a wire over a 132 000 volt line. The resident fortunately survived the incident.
The Municipality appreciates the patience of residents and wished to apologise for the inconvenience caused.
