Halloween Tour cancelled due to ALGOA FM

31 October 2011 By Port Elizabethan

Hi

The reason the PE tour for Halloween was cancelled, is due to Algoa FM, just NOT publicising us.

Please DO join in and write to the Press, as this can NOT continue.

Especially because, due to Algoa FM, we do NOT even run ANY Public tours in PE, which is now down to a pitiful one Public tour a year, which is ONLY on Halloween, and we can not even get that right due to Algoa FM.

Please, all of you, the people from PE, do write to all press (Herald, Weekend Post and Die Burger) and also contact BAY FM, who are a fabulous station.

All the best

Mark Rose-Christie
Without Prejudice

Editor’s Notes: Picture this Mark – you are a little Pekinese dog, like the ones favoured by Paris Hilton and, instead of doing cutesy little tricks for your lunch you decide to bite and shred Paris’ underwear. And then what happens? People all over the world turn to Google and type in this search term – ‘paris hilton no panties’. Do you think that Paris will continue feeding you and carrying you around in her handbag? Thought Not!

Wow – Algoa FM destroyed your ability to make cash in Port Elizabeth all by themselves huh? I must remember to suck up to them more and maybe then I will get rich, rich, rich.

Arrogant oke – maybe he’s a secretly deployed ANC cadre. They normally expect everything for free…

WOW, if he is able to convince himself that Algoa FM, a commercial radio station, not running FREE adverts for his commercial venture is the sole reason for it not working, then this dude has absolutely no idea what it takes to advertise and market a business or event. I think he is soley to blame for his business disappearing.  Neat trick.

The truth is that the bus tours are not particularly exciting. Rose-Christie is a poor second to Rose Trehaven’s ghost tours, which have been going a lot longer than he has. He should try walking about our historic neighbourhoods – a lot less hassle than climbing on and off a bus. Another thought – Halloween is American. We are African. May be a disconnect there? Use it, don’t use it.

You’ll find many (mainly unfavourable) comments about this BUSINESS here: http://www.hellopeter.com/mystery-ghost-bus-tour/compliments-and-complaints

Oh dear. Firstly Alan (the Editor) do you really believe this, or are you currying favour with the media who might support the MyPE site ? Secondly Edrich, if you went on an Overseas ghost tour, you would see we do far, far more than they ever do (see our website as to why). Thirdly FireflyAfrica, I’ve been in the entertainment and advertising industry for over 30 years, and so how, pray tell, does one afford phenomenal paid advertising costs for just a mere 60 seats per tour – and in PE we can hardly run once a year, let alone once a month, like in other cities (not that this would change costs I hasten to add). Lastly to ‘The King’ (what a title), the unfavourable comments are from immature people or those who have not taken overseas tours, and have no idea how much more we offer. They should be grateful, if anything. Moreover, isn’t it odd that so very few complain, whilst thousands of people have caused us to run the tours or a long, long 13 years (as of 2013). And we want nothing for free you silly person, for we actually do pay for some advertising, as much as we can afford – but always to our detriment in PE. In fact, you total idiot, we run at a loss in PE. And why ? Because we feel sorry for the PE public at the hands of its socially irresponsible media. Read other show producers’ comment, we are not the only one’s complaining. And WAKE UP, I do NOT need the money, I have more than enough money. I am complaining because PE folk WANT the tours. It makes NO difference to me at ALL. Shame man !!!!!!! And go read what others say about certain media in this VILLAGE they have made our CITY into. If there is FREEDOM of the press, certain of them need to be SHOT haha 🙂 WAKE UP, READ WHAT SO MANY OTHERS SAY !!!!!!!!!!

Hold up, I don’t get it… Why this response a year later?

Perhaps he did a Google search “mark rose christie, port elizabeth” – and found the article from last year right at the top of the google search. Now if only he had decided to pay for mype.co.za advertising, perhaps he wouldn’t be so angry and battling to fill seats. I am also confused, Mark seams to contradict himself – Mark, if people were really rushing to fill your busses, why on Earth are you worrying about the media?
