Lucky Algoa FM listener Owen Tutton from Dispatch will be “roaring into summer” thanks to a partnership between the station and South African National Parks (SANParks). Lace up and enter the annual Algoa FM Big Walk for Cancer presented by ISUZU MOTORS South Africa. The event remains true to its cause and is held to increase cancer awareness. In 2024 it will raise funds for the Childhood Cancer Foundation South Africa (CHOC) and St Bernard’s Hospice in East London, and St Francis Hospice in Nelson Mandela Bay. Generous Garden Route golfers and businesses participating in the second annual Algoa Cares Golf Day helped raise R50 000 towards the purchase of two laptops, software, hygiene supplies and stationery for the Leolan Academy in Mossel Bay. Thanks to a record number of more than 13 thousand participants at the 2019 Algoa FM Big Walk for Cancer, a new transporter vehicle was purchased for the CANSA Port Elizabeth Care Centre of the Cancer Association South African (CANSA). Thanks to the funds raised by the more than 13 000 people who participated in the 2018 Algoa FM Big Walk for Cancer, the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) Care Centre in the Eastern Cape has purchased the province’s first portable FotoFinder mole analyser. R60 million boost for PE’s Baakens Valley

Algoa FM has started on a 15-month property development in the Baakens Valley of Nelson Mandela Bay as the new home of the Eastern Cape media company’s business.
