Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality Executive Mayor Danny Jordaan would like to congratulate Lusapho April, who has made history by winning the Hannover Marathon in Germany three times and Allister Coetzee on his appointment as the new coach of the Springboks.
We are immensely proud of the two trailblazers who are making Nelson Mandela Bay proud. Lusapho April has been a force to be reckoned with in the long distance running circuit while Allister Cootzee has had an uncanny ability to produce winning streaks on the rugby field.
We would like you to know that you are serving as a beacon of hope to the youth of the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro who will aspire to achieve greatness as well in their lifetime. We are certain that throngs of youth from our communities will aspire to the lifestyle you lead.
In a City riven with so much social ills and hardships, the alternate lifestyle you live and extraordinary achievements through sports become a totem of hope and triumph of the human spirit. We wish you well and you may remain strong and focussed – good luck and God bless.
