Cycle Championships Road Closures

Residents must take note of the upcoming road closures during the cycle championships taking place in the Bay:

Marine Drive will be a one-way between Admiralty Way and Second Avenue towards town from 6.30am to 6pm on Thursday.

People travelling from Schoenmakerskop will be diverted through the NMMU back entrance.

On Thursday afternoon, and from 6am to 6pm on Friday and Saturday, a number of roads will be one-ways in the following directions:

up Military Road;
down Brickmakers Kloof;
up Upper Valley Road;
Strandfontein Road from the Driftsands intersection to Marine Drive via Admiralty Way; and
Marine Drive from the beacon to Second Avenue.

Marine Drive will be closed between the beacon and Willows on Saturday from 10am to 12.30pm.

On Sunday, Marine Drive will be shut from 7.30am to 1pm and Genadendal/Glendore Road will be a one-way towards Victoria Drive.

Affected roads will be signposted with officials directing residents into and out of suburbs.

Motorists will be allowed onto the route between groups of riders, travelling in the same direction, but will not be permitted to overtake.
