You should hang your heads in SHAME

3 June 2013 By Alan Straton

Today I came across a video on YouTube posted on 2 June 2013 purporting to show Port Elizabeth schoolchildren stoning a Somalian man in Booysens Park last week on Thursday. I am too shocked to put it up on MyPE.

See my Tweet:

I cannot bring myself to show this on MyPE – http://t.co/AYNjrUfRmQ cellphone video of kids stoning Somalian in PE – sick man.

The link to the video on YouTube is in the tweet above – it is just sick and shocking.

In fact I still cannot believe that such sickening acts of xenophobic violence can happen in our city. No, strike that xenophobic word as it almost gives credence and support to the stupid little imbeciles who think that they have the right to stone, kick, verbally abuse and film the utter degradation of another human being.

Have we really become savages to allow this to happen?

I am at an utter loss for words when I think of just how damaging such actions are to Port Elizabeth and South Africa. Just what actions by parents and moral guides has led these little miscreants to believe that they can just stone and kick a naked man in the streets like that?

How do you answer and prevent such a thing happening again? As much as I would like to take these little miscreants by the scruff of their miserable, scrawny necks and thrash the living daylights out of them I know deep in my being that I will then be only perpetuating the cycle of violence? How can we as society ensure that these ruffians realise the utter depravity of their actions?

How dare we allow these despicable little human beings to speak for Port Elizabeth in such a vile manner?

    From: http://www.enca.com/south-africa/update-stoned-man-not-somali-shopkeeper

“New information has come to light about the graphic video of a man being stoned to death near Port Elizabeth.

It seems this may not have been Somali shopkeeper Ahmed Abidi as we (ENCA) previously reported.

Police say this may have been a different incident of mob justice in Booysens Park, that happened a few days ago.

In the footage, which was cut into still images, a man is seen being stoned to death by at least three people, one of them appears to be a schoolboy of about 12 years old.

A relative of Ahmed Abidi, who was stoned to death on Thursday, says this does not look like him and he was wearing clothes at the time he was found.

Police are now trying to determine who the man in this footage is, when he was attacked and who was responsible.”
