World-renowned artist- guitarist extraordinaire Dan Patlansky will be performing in the Eastern Cape on the 15th and 16th of May at the Cash Store in Port Elizabeth.
Dan will be launching his new album and accompanied by local musician Stuart Reece, who will be open for Dan on his tour. Stuart, now based in Johannesburg has done extremely well for himself since going national.

When you hear the name Dan Patlansky it immediately conjures up images of the genius guitarist, singer/songwriter and globally respected purveyor of the blues he is.

Brandishing his Theo Crous-produced new electric album, Dan’s Southern African pilgrimage will start in Johannesburg on 9 May and culminate in the kingdom of Swaziland at The Bushfire Festival 22 days later.
Comfortably into his second generation of frayed, Fender electric-fuelled storytelling, the blues and Patlansky are welded at the hip. Think “Daddy’s Old Gun”, a song off of 2012’s 20 Stones album being acknowledged as one of the best singles of the year by Rolling Stone SA, or the self same album being chosen as the 10th best blues rock album release of the year by the Blues Rock Review in the US of A, and it’s blatently clear that all Patlansky strums to is golden.
Not only did he win a Golden Standard Bank Ovation award for his solo acoustic show at the Grahamstown National Arts Festival in 2013, he also received an invite to tour Germany with Everlast last year.
Add accolades that include Patlansky’s 2013 acoustic album, Wooden Thoughts, being chosen as the 16th best Blues Rock release of 2013 by the Blues Rock Review in America, as well as a his nomination as one of the artists to watch in 2014, and all signs are pointed to Patlansky enjoying global recognition for his growing contribution to the blues.
Having already opened for Bruce Springsteen on his recent High Hopes SA tour, and receiving a further invitation to headline the Horsens Festival in Denmark this coming November, Dan Patlansky’s brand new musical chapter has, and will, add further substance to the iTunes store and the world of blues/rock at large.
Whether it’s European tours with the likes of Everlast in 2013, or prepping to do a local national tour, Dan’s Dear Silent Thieves has enjoyed a convincing series of rehearsals before the day the LA-based Lurssen Masterering masterpiece hits with a raw ability and exceptionally rare modern-day blues integrity. “Dear Silent Thieves only has 10 tracks, and I love that. No dilution, just good, old-fashioned, modern blues,” he concludes.
