How many times these days do you follow a link to a controversial article/video/podcast/tweet and it has been removed for violating some or other law/though/group/thought?
My understanding of a democracy has always been; “Let people make mistakes, let people do and believe in things until proven wrong (or right), rely on people sharing and learning from each other through a somewhat messy and fun process.”
BUT to have our own questions questioned and our own theories deleted just because we MAY offend someone smacks of a NON Democratic process.
To have dissenting information denied to us on the demand of governments hungry for power AND by governments who have NOT consulted with the wider population on HOW they wish to consume information is just plain wrong.
As children we learned from doing wrong, supporting incorrect ideas, things and processes – THAT is the inherent way that we do learn. That is the inherent way that we as adults learn every day.
What is next? Children taken away from us at birth because we are not deemed able to bring them up into this messy, crazy wonderful world?
Have your say in the MyPE Forum where we even allow you to be anonymous BUT also have an editorial policy that we will LEARN from as we make mistakes: https://mype.co.za/truth/chat/
