As part of the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality’s water leak detection initiative, our Water Division will be conducting a water loss programme this Saturday (8 November) on a 525 mm pipeline at the Port Elizabeth Airport between 22:00 (10pm) and 05:00 (5am) on Sunday, 9 November.
Standing Committee Chairperson for Infrastructure, Engineering, Electricity and Energy, Councillor Andile Mfunda, said during this time water supply to Walmer (up to 7th Avenue), South End, Humewood Road down to Beach Road, Humerail, Summerstrand (Strandfontein Road to 2nd Avenue) and Forest Hill will be disrupted.
“The water supply will be connected shortly thereafter.
“This work is part of our efforts to deal with water leaks to curb water loss,” Mfunda said.
