Take Back The City Picnic – Settlers Valley Port Elizabeth 3 June

I learned a marketing lesson today and it was all around the Take Back the City Picnic initiative.

Ridwaan Kader sent me the message you see below via Twitter this morning:

Then I climbed onto Google to see if I could find out more – after all Facebook only aggregates information in their gated compound and denies the greater world a share in important information!

I was shocked and horrified to find that there were no results available on the net, in blogs or other media for such a wonderful initiative. Obviously this article has rectified that and created more exposure for the Take Back the City Picnic initiative in Port Elizabeth.

Not being a Facebook fundi I presume that we need to compliment Janine Pearton for this stupendous idea.

Janine says:

The idea is simple. Approximately every 2 months a great big picnic is held and families get together to enjoy the wonderful picnic areas of PE, in numbers for safety. Lets take back the city and show our children what a beautiful city we live in without fear of crime. Please share this group and get PE to join. This is not for profit or charity. This is purely and simply an opportunity for families to get together and have a wonderful morning out and about. So pack a picnic and join us.

3 June Picnic : We will meet at the entrance to Settlers Park at the bottom of How avenue and Hallack road entrance.

The picnic takes place from 9:00 am to 12:00 midday in Settlers Park this Sunday 3 June. Bring a friend.
