Good news from the River
Hi, At last some good news on the pollution front. Since last Friday 27 January there has been no more pollution coming into the Swartkops Estuary via the Markman Stormwater Canal. We still need the metro to give us an indication of when the water is OK for recreational purposes though. At least the spring tide has been helping to flush the pollution out. In the wake of another successful River Mile, SPAR Eastern Cape has committed almost a quarter of a million rand over a three-year period to assist with the clean-up of the Swartkops River.
