Dear MyPE The Democratic Alliance is appalled to read that Mr Oesterlein's brother cannot rely on state clinics in the Eastern Cape for his medication. The DA will visit the Walmer Clinic and insist in the Provincial Legislature that the sign stating that "We are not Clicks" is removed immediately, that the matter is investigated and those responsible are disciplined and retrained in ethics and patients’ rights. This is not the first time that I have complained about this clinic and I dare say, it is not going to be the last, either. To say that you have to waste a day of your life every month for Blood Pressure tablets, is a load of bollocks to me, but every month my Domestic worker has to go through this process mainly just to have her Blood Pressure checked. Walmer Clinic 14th Ave Turns Wasted Time into an Art Form
My Domestic worker was given the afternoon off on Friday to get her monthly blood pressure tablets. She had her blood pressure reading taken, after waiting most of the afternoon - then she was told that she would have to come back again, wasting even more time, so that she could get the tablets. The nurses at the clinic advised the patients that they are understaffed and that the government won't employ more staff. What absolute bollocks....
