This is not the first time that I have complained about this clinic and I dare say, it is not going to be the last, either. To say that you have to waste a day of your life every month for Blood Pressure tablets, is a load of bollocks to me, but every month my Domestic worker has to go through this process mainly just to have her Blood Pressure checked. Last Friday, the 19th August, 2011, was her appointment day. When she arrived at the Clinic, both of the only 2 Blood Pressure machines, were out of order – so none of the “obligatory” blood pressure reading could be taken, anyway. She sat and then waited for her tablets, submitted her card. The Pharmacists then of course, closed up for lunch – everything then comes to a standstill. The Pharmacists then came back from lunch, went into the dispensary and said that all the patients must just wait. Don’t worry that there are patients who are elderly, who have had to make special arrangements to get there. Anyhow, the patients waited and waited all afternoon – no-one was served. Eventually the patients left without their cards.
I contacted the office of Peggy Kumalo, she is the District Manager for Health, to report the incident, I left a message for her to call me back. I was told, by the receptionist, that I would need to write a letter. I said that if I did not get a call back from her, I would be taking the issue to the press. So here you go Peggy, here is your letter, as I did not have a postal address.

People who vote for the Always Needing Cash party have only themselves to blame… As a minority, we cannot sway, change or improve the system other than to point out, whenever appropriate, just how little regard this government has for those who place it in power election after election.
