Eastern Province Cricket today announced that the Nelson Mandela Bay Sports Council has agreed to include cricket as one of the sporting codes who may formally bill a tournament the Mayoral Cup. Other codes participating are rugby, football, netball, basketball and boxing. This inaugural tournament will see thirteen provincial teams plus Kenya, Zimbabwe and Namibia contest the cup.
