The National Arts Festival Stats Celebrate 40 years of Artistry

Street parades, a birthday celebration, a dazzling array of international performers from over 40 countries, and over 2800 performances in eleven days all contributed to a record 225 538 attendees at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown this year. The 2014 VWSA Rally saw 42 competitors taking part in 6 classes over two days on the weekend of 11 and 12 July 2014. Conditions this year were dry and dusty with an overcast first day as the precursor to a sunny Saturday for the final stages. IEC to release final results tomorrow

The Independent Electoral Commission will announce the final results of the 2014 General Elections tomorrow at 6:00 pm, IEC Chairperson Advocate Pansy Tlakula announced on Friday. "We've received four objections submitted in terms of section 155 of the Electoral Act and the Commission will deal with these before we announce the final results at 6:00 pm tomorrow at the Results Operations Centre (ROC)," she said. The 2014 Nelson Mandela Bay Bell Buoy Challenge held on Saturday 8 March in Algoa Bay will be remembered as a record breaking year which not only featured the highest number of entries for this unique swim but also the highest number of finishers and the oldest participant for the race.
