I received copies of 2 e-mails from a ratepayer (named C) who sent an e-mail query to the Municipal Customer Care address. According to C, as a result of the Municipality not answering his query within the stated TEN working days it is now prejudicing his need to query his rateable value and he would like to know if he has a case to argue as such. Now, I can personally vouch for C (Ja Kupido , I know that doesn't mean much!) as one of those people who crosses t's and dots i's - the … [Read more...] about Dear Municipality, Just who must shoulder the blame here?

No Logic From Municipality
Our Person Striding the Boards (Acting) Municipal Manager gets a FAT raise and the MTN data account goes unpaid resulting in councillor and other officials e-mails being down for nearly three weeks as a result of the non payment. Let me be late with my Lights and Water account and I get slapped with penalties, interest and disconnection. I suppose the caring is unevenly applied here as well. At least the Acting Municipal Manager should now be able to pay his municipal accounts. Anyone … [Read more...] about No Logic From Municipality

The Nondaba Chronicles – NMBM, Water and Pre-paid Electricity for Township Residents
After seeing the violent attacks on the Councillor's houses in Soweto this week, Nondaba and I had another little chat about water and electricity. I was bemoaning about the fact that with our dam levels sitting at an average total combined capacity of 84,3%, I felt that the NMBM was being extremely roguish by not removing the water restrictions. I then asked Nondaba if the residents, residing in the townships, need to pay for water? She replied; "Yes!" Nondaba then said; "What makes the … [Read more...] about The Nondaba Chronicles – NMBM, Water and Pre-paid Electricity for Township Residents
