The proposed Sugar Tax is ‘murderous’

BEV SA (Beverages South Africa) members today hit back at the Sugar Tax proposed by Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan in his February 2016 budget speech. Bottlers slammed the proposed tax for it's targeting of the Sugar Sweetened Beverages market (SSB) saying that SSB accounts for only 3% of the daily kilojoules consumed by South Africans.
