Under no circumstances will the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality allow robberies and other serious crimes to occur at dumping sites in the Metro, avowed the Executive Deputy Mayor, Cllr Mongameli Bobani, during a site visit to the Arlington Dump site in Walmer on 9 May 2017. The visit emanated from the accidental death of Mr Amos Dywili, who was trampled by a heavy duty truck, and the stabbing of Mr Horan Omni over the past weekend. Mongameli Bobani on fire

9 March 2016 By Alan Straton

At today's Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality council meeting the opposition parties of the DA, UDM and COPE staged a walkout - but, two DA members stayed behind, giving council a quorum which allowed them to continue with the business of the day and approve all items on white and (we presume) green paper. Here UDM Councillor Mongameli Bobani explains why, in his opinion, the speaker was out of order. The opposition parties should have read the signs earlier in the morning as the … [Read more...] about Mongameli Bobani on fire

Vote for Mayor

We are running a fun poll on the front page of MyPE asking people to vote for either Athol or Danny or Other. At present Athol is leading. One of the options is Other and if you select it you may put the name of the person you would like to see as Mayor after the next Municipal Elections. The Kindergarten Throws it Toys – Again

30 July 2011 By Alan Straton

What would a council meeting be without a little bit of posturing, lip pouting, foot stamping and downright childish behaviour? Efficient and focused on service delivery would be my answer. But, it would appear that Government's little foot soldiers have an over extended view of their position and reason for being that they think needs to be supplemented with a sprinkling of petulance. See the image a little bit further down of the UDM's Councillor Bobani being escorted out of the Council … [Read more...] about The Kindergarten Throws it Toys – Again
