PE Residents in these areas could be without water today
Residents from large parts of Nelson Mandela Bay could experience the disruption in their water supply by lunch time today after an electrical transformer at the Loerie Water Treatment Works malfunctioned last night. This affects the pumping of water to some of the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality’s supply reservoirs. Repairs to the transformer is under way but it is unlikely that power will be restored before 14:00 today. The 36th running of the popular Castrol Winterberg Enduro enduro race on Saturday 13 August, sponsored by Castrol for the 33rd time, not only saw a change in the route for the 230-odd competitors, but also lots of action and activities for the spectators. Dam Levels down AGAIN
This week sees the third successive decrease in dam levels with the average dam level dropping by 0.2%. The Kouga Dam levels increased by 0.2% and the Loerie by 0.4% on last week. Dam Levels Creep Down Again
This week sees the second successive decrease in dam levels with the average dam level dropping by 0.2%. Only the Kouga dam showed an increase in level by 0.1% or 62 Megalitres, the rest all got emptier. Walking in Settlers Park yesterday brought the drought home as the level of the river is very low. Slight Increase in Dam Levels
www.MyPE.co.za: It seems as though we are living on the edge of the 30% of total capacity in the dams supplying the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro with the recent rains increasing the total dam levels by a mere 0.14% to 31.64% from 31.5% on 13 December 2010.
