MyPE Events Calendar – Today’s Light Bulb Moment

30 January 2014 By Alan Straton

That light bulb moment occurred for me yesterday (OK, I admit I can be slow!) when I saw that an event submitted to MyPE was one of the most read articles for the day. That popular event was this one: Bring and Braai Invite. Along with my light bulb moment was the realisation that the Events Calendar on MyPE is quite powerful, reaches many people and is for FREE. On top of that we do all the heavy lifting in manually checking relevancy, grammar and style before publishing. BUT, the … [Read more...] about MyPE Events Calendar – Today’s Light Bulb Moment

On World Diabetes Day this Thursday 14 November, members of the Independent Community Pharmacy Association (ICPA) will be offering free diabetes screenings combined with a referral and follow-up service to optimise health outcomes. "Last year our pharmacies screened almost 50 000 patients, collecting extremely valuable data and in the process, helped many people who were not aware of their condition. A guide to getting the most exposure for your business

26 September 2013 By Alan Straton

Old Market Square

A frequent e-mail that we receive is one asking how a business can get exposure on MyPE - reading between the lines I always see the word free hovering and am always so tempted to reply and say that nothing is really ever for free - especially if you take into consideration that time is money so, even if you get to advertise for free on MyPE it still costs your time and money to do so. That said, many people can attest to the fact that spending a little bit of money on a MyPE advert does … [Read more...] about A guide to getting the most exposure for your business

Since When are Calls to 1023 NOT Free?

6 May 2012 By Alan Straton

I recently switched to receiving my Telkom bill via e-mail. Tight arse that I am I never asked for a printed itemised bill as I was not willing to pay the additional charges - although that may have changed in the meantime. I 'think' that I have a logical internet search savvy brain but, it appears that looking for a simple list of services and related charges on the Telkom web site is reserved for people far more intelligent than I. Back to the shock of seeing that calls to Telkom Directory … [Read more...] about Since When are Calls to 1023 NOT Free?

Maybe a Free Listing on MyPE is too MUCH

11 April 2012 By Alan Straton

After sending each business on MyPE an e-mail to update their business details in the MyPE Directory I received a desperate plea from one to remove two of their adverts/listings on MyPE. Due to a change in business focus they were no longer hiring out caravans and now only trading in second hand vans. Michelle wrote about the number of calls that they were receiving; "..its getting incredibly frustrating for hubby and I as the phone goes all the time to rent out our vans....truly!" I have … [Read more...] about Maybe a Free Listing on MyPE is too MUCH
