A childhood friend and a distant cousin who works at FAW (and a staunch ANC card-carrying member) begged me to highlight … [Read more...] about Salarym Earners Paid but Weekly Wage Earners not

National freeways in great shape for Easter holiday traffic

15 March 2016 By Port Elizabethan

Most major highways in the country are in excellent condition and road users will encounter only limited construction activities when they venture on to the road during the coming Easter holiday period. “The national and provincial road network is a safe environment and if drivers stick to the rules of the road and display tolerance and courtesy towards fellow road users, we should be able to cut down on the unacceptably high rate of fatal crashes,” says Vusi Mona, spokesperson for the South … [Read more...] about National freeways in great shape for Easter holiday traffic

Easter – the next budget breaker

8 March 2016 By Alan Straton

Eunice Sibiya

The Easter break is always a welcome holiday at the beginning of the year, however with many people still cash strapped from the festive season debt, paying school fees as well as rising interest rates starting to take a hold, this mini break needs careful financial planning. "Most South Africans tend to forget that Easter needs to be budgeted for otherwise it can easily add to mounting debt," says Eunice Sibiya, Head of Consumer Education at FNB. Don’t let security worries spoil your Easter holiday

11 April 2014 By Port Elizabethan

The Easter long weekend is around the corner, and at least two long weekends that follow. This period can however also present a prime opportunity for would-be criminals to take advantage of your empty house while you are away for just a few hours, or for a few days. Martin Kriel, Managing Director of ADT Security’s East Coast Region says regardless of how you choose to spend your … [Read more...] about Don’t let security worries spoil your Easter holiday
