Do you recognise any of these names?
I am going out on a limb here. The Nelson Mandela Bay Metro in terms of the Municipal Finance Management Act is very good in publishing the names of bidders in respect of advertised competitive bids, above the threshold value of R 200,000 (All applicable taxes included). On 13 August 2014 a large number of business submitted bids for the Construction of Sidewalks and Cycle Paths in our fair city (Bid reference SCM 15-5/C). All tenderers are evaluated mainly on BBBEE Status, Total Price … [Read more...] about Do you recognise any of these names?
Friday Rant – Is BEE stifling Entrepreneurship?
A recent survey concluded that, as a result of BEE, the drive and desire amongst skilled black people to become entrepreneurs had been reduced in favour of 'easy employment'. One of BEE's consequences would then appear to be that it has driven white males to become entrepreneurs and help the white population to remain as drivers of the economy. Just where is the solution to skills transfer and economic growth in South … [Read more...] about Friday Rant – Is BEE stifling Entrepreneurship?

In economic powerhouses of the world BEE stands for: Best Excellent Effort In our colour blinkered world though BEE stands for: Black Executive Enumeration As a country we are losing jobs and creating a fat cat middle-upper class with no entrepreneurial ability to implement broad employment programmes.
