Colin and Anne Meyer from East London emerged as the winners of the 43rd Continental Milligan Vintage Trial, which finished on Thursday 14 June 2012 at the Fish River Sun near Port Alfred. An event of the magnitude of the Ironman does not run properly without a mass of volunteers and logistics - some are paid, some volunteer and all are enthusiastic and dedicated. The 2012 Ironman swim has been named as one of the toughest to date. The first swimmer home was Clemente Alonso-Mckernan from Spain in a time of 54 minutes and 53 seconds, second was Kent Horner from South Africa in 57 minute and 55 seconds, closely followed by Mike Aigroz from Switzerland four seconds later. 2012 EC budget speech highlights a good news-bad news budget

The big winner in this year's provincial budget is Roads and Public Works and the big loser is Health. The Roads Maintenance Grant has increased by 32%, from R1.034 billion to R1.369 billion and this is good for our economy. It's a ray of sunshine in the budget. Our big concern is around the Health Department which receives R15.66 billion.
