On Saturday we loaded up the Chinese Racing Pig (our Bull Terrier, Jenna) and the Wolf in Training (our German Shepard, Tessa) and headed for the Groendal area in the hope that we could get close to the dam and get some images after the bountiful rain. As Ginno Fabri says; “The dams are now 427% full, I think!”
Getting to the dam was not to be, unfortunately, but we did get a chance to explore an incredibly beautiful part of Uitenhage and have a chat to one of the Groendal Reserve rangers who was most proud of his little section at the start of the Baviaans Reserve.
The Swartkops River is certainly flowing strongly and the dogs had a great time playing in the river just downstream of the first crossover point. As per normal the Longhair and I took more photographs than drops of water in the dams and would like to share the images below with you:

Hi Alan. I found an image of yours of the Missionvale tree. I am in Australia and friends with a member of Missionvale Australia. She is doing a funraising concert, and as an artist I said I would donate a painting for a silent auction. I am wondering as I cannot visit Missionvale if i can use your photo as reference?
