Stanford Slabbert Again

26 August 2013 By Alan Straton

I so hate to start my Monday off with a rant and a rage – I always feel like that will set the tone for the rest of the week.

As people who know MyPE will attest – our editorial policy on MyPE is quite simple; “If it is about PE then it is in”. As a result we spend quite a bit of time reading about PE on MyPE and other web sites.

Traditional media houses (newspapers) have a policy to never advertise their potential and real rivals by ignoring the fact that they might even exist. For years the only way for competing media houses to get a mention in a rival publication was via an accreditation as a photographer.

Now we have so-called traditional and ethical media houses refusing to even accredit other rival media houses via an image accreditation as well.

After Dan Roodt from Praag accredited MyPE – “Baie Dankie Dan!” – (see: Stanford Slabbert image apologies to SABC), The New Age has once again seen fit to ‘borrow’ another image from MyPE and post it saying that the image was supplied.

I certainly didn’t supply it so they must have lifted it choosing to not credit MyPE at all by chopping off the watermark and then ‘forgetting’ to waste ink and time by typing Credit: MyPE.

AND whilst we are on the subject of Stanford and his woes I think I finally get it:

Former Nelson Mandela Bay Executive Mayor and former ANC Regional Chairman, Nceba Faku has been implicated in many instances that have brought the ANC into disrepute.

Some of which include:

  • Allegedly calling for those who voted for white parties to be driven into the sea.
  • Allegedly inciting the local community to burn down the local daily newspaper, The Herald.
  • The Kabuso Forensic Report recommends that Faku be criminally charged for fraud for his alleged involvement in several illegal deals.
  • The list goes on ……….

Compare and contrast the above with the fact that Stanford Slabbert was expelled from the DA for forwarding a politically incorrect e-mail heaping scorn upon the ANC and Jacob Zuma.

Please Note – I said politically incorrect and NOT racist.

If you have not read the entire e-mail as forwarded by Slabbert then read this editorial – Friday Rant – How dare you Heather and Zandisile? which contains a link to the alleged racist email.

So what do I get?

Stanford Slabbert’s itchy ‘forward to my mates’ send finger was in the wrong place at the wrong time as his masters were looking for a scapegoat to hang on the line of political expediency so that they could prove a point and show the electorate that they mean business when they say that they are a government in waiting.

Time will only tell if the DA shot the right messenger.

I would love to know who asked Stanford to forward the message, what has happened to that person?

Reports say that he refused to divulge the name of that person. I just wonder if Stanford has asked that person to now fund Stanford’s ‘forced’ retirement OR has Stanford received a Golden Handshake?
