SALGA Provincial Conference Heads for Port Elizabeth

Eastern Cape Municipalities under the South African Local Government Association – Eastern Cape will hold a provincial conference to deal with issues affecting local government and elect a new leadership for the organisation in the province for the current municipal term.

The SALGA conference gets held shortly after every Local Government Election given changes in the political leadership of municipalities. The provincial conference precedes the national one which is the highest decision making body that also charts the roadmap for local government for the current term of office for new councillors.

The provincial conference will be held in Nelson Mandela Bay’s Feather Market Hall on 21 – 22 July 2011. It will be preceded by a reception dinner that will be hosted by the Cacadu District Municipality and will be addressed by Premier, Noxolo Kiviet.
