The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality Safety and Security Directorate boosted its senior staff complement with the appointment of Mr. Warren Prins as its Director of Traffic and Licensing and Mr. Arlin Robile as the Director for Security.
Prins, with a Diploma in Traffic Services and a qualification in Municipal Police Management, started his career in 1993 and worked as an Assistant Traffic Chief in Mossel Bay as well as the Manager of Protection Services at Koukamma Municipality amongst others.
Robile started at the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality as a security guard in 1990 and was promoted to Assistant Security Officer in 1991. In 1994 he became a Traffic Officer and earned another promotion in 1999 to become senior traffic officer before being appointed in 2004 as the Assistant Director for Security Services.
“We are very glad that we appointed a Traffic Chief to take over from Mr Hamilton Totoyi who retired in 2015.
“Mr Arlin Robile in turn takes over from Reverend Howard Hans Head of Security who retired in 2010. That position has been vacant for seven years. Robile acted in the position since 2012.
“Both Prins and Robile start their new roles from 1 November. As you are aware, we already appointed an experienced Executive Director in Advocate Keith Meyer. He starts on 1 December.
“For the first time in nine years, we have a full complement of senior staff at Security Services and are well on our way to fill other positions as well.
“We have the Summer Season ahead of us and with this team in place, we are confident that we will deliver a safe city for tourists and residents alike,” MMC John Best said.
