Port Elizabeth’s Top 20

6 March 2011 By Alan Straton

MyPE

In the month of February 2011 we published 309 articles on MyPE covering a range of topics pertinent to Port Elizabethans. Some of them elicited strong and lively debate in the comments section of each article and some just crashed and burned.

The article about the Rhino cruelly de-horned at Kariega with accompanying images from Ocean Messengers elicited almost double the number of reads as the second placed article about the supposed cheating by the Taxi Industry.

MyPE also moved to a new server and the air in the offices is slightly less blue.

The number of visits to the MyPE Business Directory shows no signs of abating and continues on it’s upward trend.

After moving to the new server we also showed a leap to the 332nd most visited site in South Africa.

The articles below are the Top 20 read articles on MyPE for the month of February 2011:

  1. Can You Even Begin to Imagine this Rhino’s Pain.
  2. OMG The Damn Taxi Industry is Cheating.
  3. Stomach in Chest Out.
  4. January 2011 NAAMSA Retail Sales Figures.
  5. Aletta is Now Better and Well Well Well.
  6. PE Based Raggy Charters Under Fire.
  7. Take Your Fracking and Frack Off.
  8. EP Cricket Pays Tribute to the Memory of Raymond Uren.

  10. Check Your Company Status on CIPRO.
  11. One Week Left to Register for Matric Supplementary Exams.
  12. Delay for New Drivers Licence Legislation.
  13. Your Coffe Shop It’s Not Posh Enough.
  14. Dam Levels Not Affected by Rain.
  15. Fowers Councillor, Arrange Them.
  16. Take Your Pick From 20 867 Voting Stations Countrywide.
  17. Budget Speech: And More Money Goes To.
  18. Do You Also Sense the Hand of God Here.
  19. Voting Stations to Open First Weekend in February.
  20. OKay Children Gather Around for a Group Sex Story.

The least read article published in February on MyPE was this ONE.

The Top 10 Visited Business Detail Pages in the MyPE Directory were:

  1. The Herald
  2. WAP South Africa
  3. Weekend Post
  4. Karens Escorts
  5. Pick ‘n Pay Hypermarket
  6. PE Technologies
  7. Umhlobo Wenene
  8. Medicus Shoes
  9. Auto Styling
  10. Rafis Appliances.

50% of the over 14 000 business listings on MyPE received in excess of 10 visits in the month of February 2011.

The figures for the above represent a broken month as a result of the move by MyPE from one server to another but are still a true reflection.
