Roads closed due to flooding:
- Dip at Third Avenue, Newton Park closed
- Old Uitenhage Road between Nooitgedacht and Kleinskool
Motorists must proceed with care when using these roads:
- Chatty Dip
- Redhouse Road
- Bottom part of Burman Road
- Qeqe and Solumtu Road
Traffic lights not working at the corner of Cape Road and Second Avenue. The municipality is working on it.
During the night one serious accident took place on the M19. Three vehicles was involved. Possible driving under the influence of alcohol suspected.
At the corner of Mati Road and Uitenhage Road – stones are prohibiting the free flow of traffic.
Thus far the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality distributed more than 800 loaves of bread, soup, mattresses, blankets and a tent.

On the subject of the dip or any road works in this city – why can they not start warning motorist of road closures from an intersection or two away? What truly raises my hackles is when you are travelling down the 3rd Avenue dip, the first clue that the road is closed is on the bend before going down the hill. One then needs to perform a u-turn and find an alternative route – URGHHHHHH. My advice would be to place a sign in William Moffett or at the circles in 3rd Ave Newton Park.
